Corey Haim's Death New Conflicting Reports from Family, Friends, and Co-Workers
Corey Haim's death is beginning to be the subject of conflicting reports. Many close to Haim say he was clean and sober at the time of his death. Others are saying the drug addiction took him back in its grips.
Corey Haim's mother Judy is reporting that she does not believe her son died of a drug overdose. She said Corey had been sick with flu like symptoms and she even had a doctor come into her apartment the day before to check on him because he had been running a fever.
Corey's mother said that Corey woke up at about 1am and was standing over her. He said he was having a hard time breathing then collapsed to his knees. This is the point where his mother called 911. The paramedics took 20 minutes to get to the apartment, and by that time it was too late, reports RadarOnline.
Corey Haim was working on a movie at the time of his death and the film's producer is speaking up. Rick Tucker who is producing, "The Dead Sea", said that Haim made it clear he could only work on a clean movie set. He went as far as having a clause put in his contract that there would be no drugs or alcohol on the set. Tucker said that Haim was extremely committed to his sobriety.
The movie in which Haim was one of the stars will need to have a lot of re-writing and editing done due to the untimely death of the actor.
Tucker said that he was surprised to hear about the reports of an accidental drug overdose being the cause of Corey Haim's death, due to his adamant stance on staying away from substances.
Corey Feldman, Corey Haim's best friend and co-star of many 80's movies, wrote on his blog today that his "friend was a tortured sole and may he find peace". It sounded as if he was speaking to his years of drug abuse. Corey Haim had been in and out of rehab at least 15 times and in 2001 he had a drug induced stroke.
Corey Haim died in his mother's apartment, he was staying with her while she was battling cancer, his mother reported to RadarOnline earlier today. The police report that they found four prescription drugs in the apartment at the time Corey collapsed. They did not find any illegal drugs.
Is it possible that Corey's mother's prescriptions were something Corey may have taken? Being away from drugs, as been reported by numerous sources close to Corey, he would have had a lower tolerance to narcotic's than in the days when he was actively using. An accidental overdose could be explained by this scenario. Of course this is just a possibility.
Another source today questioned if this was a possible suicide attempt. All and all, what it boils down to is that no one will know for sure the cause of Corey Haim's death until the toxicology tests come back. Corey Haim's death has everyone immediately suspecting drug overdose due to his long history of drug abuse. This is a reasonable assumption considering the history here.
