Desperate Housewives Season Finale Has Failed Revenge, Mystery Weddings
Fans of "Desperate Housewives" finally got to see Dave's long awaited revenge plan get carried out against Mike, Susan and their son. But things worked out so that the end could be at the alter, though fans only saw one of the participants.
By the time of the season finale, critics were starting to needle Desperate Housewives for teasing and teasing out "Creepy Dave's" evil plot to destroy Mike's live and loved ones throughout the season with no payoff. But for the season finale, Dave finally got up and tried to get it done, using Susan and her son to do it.
However, Mike was a bit busy trying to get married to Katherine in Las Vegas. But by the end, he was barreling down the street to save the day, which would eventually kill his son MJ, just as Dave blamed Mike for killing his family in an accident.
But after an entire season of waiting to do this, which took the life of his new wife Edie in the process, Desperate Housewives couldn't have Dave actually do it. So a vision of his dead daughter convinced Dave to just try and kill himself in an accident, not MJ. But Dave survived to be put in a mental ward, lost in memories of his former family.
With that season-long struggle over with, it was time to settle if Mike would actually marry Katherine, or once again marry his ex Susan.
But in a "Two months later" coda, neither Susan or Katherine were seen at the alter, or in attendance. So Desperate Housewives shippers have to spend months figuring out who was the lucky housewife.
Though Desperate Housewives doesn't make as many headlines as it used to, there's still enough of an audience left to hang on the edge of their seats at season finales. But even if Susan or Katherine fans are disappointed when the bride eventually gets named in September, there are still at least four more years left for their favorite to play catch up in Mike's heart, since Mark Cherry wants the suds to keep going into 2020.
By then, Lynette's new batch of twins may be toddlers, Bree and Karl's new affair may be found out, and Carlos's teenage niece may be out of the house.
