Snuzzler Complete Baby Head and Body Support Insert
This Snuzzler works better for newborns than any other head insert to be used in car seats, strollers or baby swings. Keeps a baby in position, and prevents their heads from falling sideways.
On a recent trip to Burlington Coat Factory, my daughter and I shopped their large baby department, and were thrilled when we found a product called The Original Snuzzler Complete Body amp; Support by Kiddopotamus. My daughter had seen a similar item, made by JJ Cole, but it retailed for $21.95, while this Snuzzler was only $14.99. We bought it and we had very high hopes that this device would make our premature newborn more comfortable in her car seat. Even when using the head supports found everywhere, they didn't provide enough cushion and her head would fall to the side in a very uncomfortable position.

Our Experience
I was so anxious to try the Snuzzler that we placed it in her car seat after we finished shopping at Burlington. This is a very different type of support for babies in that it measures 27 inches ling and 18 inches wide, and gives a baby full body support. The portion that supports the head has a large Velcro section that attaches to the top of the body so you can adjust the head rest upward as a baby grows.
The head cushion looks like those inflatable neck rests that are so popular in airports, and airline passengers often use them for making their trip more comfortable. The head support in the Snuzzler works in the same manner, it surrounds the top and sides of a babies head and comes down to a newborns chin. The back of the Snuzzler is flat, but there are "wings" that come out from each side that are heavily padded (they measure a good three or more inches thick), and these support the sides of a small baby when they are in a car seat, swing or stroller.
There are also two "feet" that come from the base of the Snuzzler, but there is a slit between them for the strap of a car seat or stroller to go, so you can safely strap your little one in securely. Babies love to be swaddled, but you can't really swaddle them and put them in a car seat. The Snuzzler is perfect because it wraps a baby tightly and makes them feel secure!
When we first put our baby in her car seat, we had the straps adjusted as tightly as they would go, but there was still quite a bit of wiggle room that left us feeling a bit uncomfortable. After placing the Snuzzler Complete Baby Head and Body Support piece into her car seat, it helped take up the extra slack, and made for a great fit.
The package states that the Snuzzler Complete Baby Head and Body Support will work for children from birth to five years of age. It can be washed in a machine, and the piece is reversible, with a plush fleece fabric on one side for cooler months, and a smooth cotton side for summer months. For $15.00, this is hands down the best investment we have made so far! We love it, and so does our baby!
