The Best Toys for Toddlers to Play with Are Cheap

Many toys we buy for our toddlers get cast aside after a short time. This article highlights the best toys for toddlers to play with that are cheap and offer long lasting entertainment.

The best toddler toys I have encountered lately are domino's. While toddlers are not quite ready to play the domino's game, they can line them up and knock them down. Since toddlers love to crash and smash things, this is a quieter alternative to the collapse of a Lincoln Log structure or Building Block castle. The best part, a box costs less than $20, making it super cheap, and will entertain your child for countless hours.

The second best toddler toy I have come across are finger skate boards. These mini skate boards have been entertaining my son for the last 6 months and they cost less than $4 per skateboard, which is so cheap. They can be found in at Toys-R-Us and Target, if not more stores than this. On the packaging it says they are for kids 8+ but my son has had no problems playing with them since he was 2. They are just a little delicate so we had to teach him how to play with them properly. Since they are so cheap, if he breaks one we can easily buy another one without thinking twice.

The third best toddler toy that is cheap are puzzles. Many puzzles say they are for kids 3+ but I beg to differ. My son has been able to put a puzzle together on his own since right after he turned 2. Now, do not buy your toddler puzzles that have 500 pieces. Get your toddler floor puzzles with big pieces. Before my son goes to bed at night we have quiet time where he reads books or plays with his puzzles. The puzzles make him so proud of himself because it is something that he can assemble all by himself. After a year of doing his puzzles, he still loves them and assembles them a few times a week so, this is not a toy that will be cast away quickly.

While it is sometimes hard to know what are the best toys for toddlers these suggestions are sure to be long time favorites for you little one. The best tip when you are shopping for toddler toys is to look at the cheap stuff first. My son seems to enjoy the cheap toys more than the complex and expensive ones (lego's and trains aside of course). What he mostly plays with are anything with wheels, toys you can build with, and puzzles. These three categories come with lots of cheap options that will save parents tons of money.
