Raw and Edgy: Five of the Best Songs by the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club Yet
A look at five fantastic songs by the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club is an American rock band that is based out of San Francisco, CA, that has created some seriously original music. Comprised of Peter Hayes, Robert Levon Been, and Leah Shapiro, the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club rocks hard, and isn't afraid to go off the beaten path with their music. I first enjoyed their music in 2020, but the band has been in existence with a number of different members since 1998. Here is a look at five of the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's best songs yet, and see if you can dig their hard edge.
"Done All Wrong"
A song that caught my attention immediately by the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club is "Done All Wrong." This song has a dark, dangerous sound, with raw vocals and intense emotions infused into the song. "Done All Wrong" is a stirring, thought provoking song, and my personal favorite by the band. The lyrics are poignants, vocals performed with a honest bite, and melody beautiful with a distinct edge.
Another great song that deserves to be mentioned by the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club is "Berlin." This song is edgy in a much different way than "Done All Wrong." This song is sexy, alluring, and rocks hard. For added entertainment value, be sure to check out the music video for "Berlin."
"Ain't No Easy Way"
"Ain't No Easy Way" is an awesome song by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Featuring a great beat, amazing instrumental and vocal collaboration, including the wailing squeal of a harmonica, "Ain't No Easy Way" is an excellent song with a hard rock edge. Since I initially heard this song, "Ain't No Easy Way" has received hundreds of listens on my mp3 player.
Another great song by the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club is "Howl." This song features a different sound than what can be heard in many of their other songs. Instead of hearing a hard edge, we hear sadness and frustration. The melody is downright beautiful, and the lyrics are poignant and honest. "Howl" is an excellent song that definitely deserves all the attention it can get.
"Beat the Devil's Tattoo"
"Beat the Devil's Tattoo" is a perfect example of the hard edge that can be felt in many of the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's songs. The band's true talent and raw edge can truly be seen most in songs like "Beat the Devil's Tattoo;" songs with a darker mood, a bit of "I don't care" attitude, and a whole lot of rock and roll. The Black Rebel Motorcycle Club was meant to be rebels and rockers, not crooners.
