Bahama Breeze in Atlanta, Georgia - Restaurant Review

The added bonus to hanging out on the patio area is that you can get a great seat for the live Island music with a live musician on hand or a DJ playing your favorite Calypso tunes.

As a New Yorker, I was new to this area and had the pleasure of visiting Bahama Breeze about 7 years ago. At that time, I didn't get the full tour of the place; hence there was not a good appreciation of the flavor that is Bahama Breeze. Once I had the full tour, I was impressed with the atmosphere as well as the food. You can dine inside in one of the lovely vibrant colored booths or on the patio near the fire pit where you'll have a front row seat of the lovely palm trees.

The added bonus to hanging out on the patio area is that you can get a great seat for the live Island music with a live musician on hand or a DJ playing your favorite Calypso tunes.

The first thing I did when I had dinner at Bahama Breeze for the first time was to check out their appetizers. I think ordering appetizers gives you a good feel for what is to come. My favorite picks on the appetizer menu would be the following:

1. Fire-roasted Jerk Shrimp - The shrimp is simmered in garlic-thyme butter with warm Cuban bread.

2. Warm Spinach Dip amp; Island Chips - This is a breezy blend of spinach, artichokes and cheese, with a hint of nutmeg, served warm with tortilla chips.

3. New Crab, Shrimp, Mango and Avocado Stack - On this dish you'll find, Lump crab meat, chilled shrimp, fresh avocados, apple-mango salsa layered and stacked; with a spicy honey-red pepper drizzle

4. Creole Baked Goat Cheese - This dish is roasted red bell peppers served with vine-ripened tomato salsa and parmesan toast rounds.

Those are just a few of the items that will make your stomach happy with lots of Island Flavor. Once I sampled various items on the starter menu, it was now time to get to the main event. You can enjoy chicken dishes like the Jerk chicken pasta and the Breeze wood grilled chicken breast. A couple of the signature seafood dishes include the Calypso Shrimp Linguine and the new Pan Seared Salmon pasta.

The bottom line: Wonderful Island foods, Great Atmosphere and reasonable prices. You can have lunch for as little as $4 or $5.00 depending on what you choose and dinner will cost you around $20.00 including a beverage and taxes.
