Here are things you can prepare, greens, potatoes, string beans, cabbage, take these foods and prepare them fresh for your family to eat. I rarely buy processed foods, not because I want to spend all day in the kitchen, who has time for that? I prepare them fresh, cause there is a chance that my family will get more healthy meals that way. I do buy some processed foods, as they are all avoidable in today's society. I buy cans of tomatoes for my soups, tomato paste, tomato sauce, some times soy sauce, mashed potatoes in the box sometimes. Pickles, olives, Humus, and things like that. All of my fresh fruits and veggies I usually get them fresh or frozen, preferably fresh, but if not frozen. I do buy some cans of veggies to drop in my home made soups, as I do not like soups prepared already in cans.

If we can start here, then we can move on. One thing that we must always do when shopping, is read the labels in the back. I am telling you, that all the new things that are coming out, until you know that they are really healthy, you need to stay away from them, for the sake of your family. Keep things simple, keep them basic, and stay healthy. You have to keep up with the things that you are purchasing for your family, and what you are feeding them, you cannot rely on the food industry, or the FDA to do that for you, and your family. You have to hold yourself accountable for what you are feeding your family, and if you think that you are really doing the best, go for it.

I know how fast everyone is moving today, I know that we cannot all can our own sauces, and bake our own bread, but for those who have the time to do so, it is much better for you, then for those of us who don't know how to do that, neither have the time to do so. We may not be able to control all of those factors, all I am saying is start with the things that we are able to control, and work our way from there. This is a new year, we are not going to beat ourselves up for the things of the past, we are going to make a start right here right now. It is better to start now, then never.
