Review: TGI Friday's Prime Rib Stroganoff Dinner

Once again, I tried a frozen dinner from this brand and was disappointed. Read to find out why.

When I said this, I had every intention of sticking to my word. However, when my wife and I were out grocery shopping a few days ago, the store we were at happened to have TGI Friday's dinners on sale and, since we were looking for items that would be quick to make for lunch and dinner, I ended up buying a couple of them. This included their Prime Rib Stroganoff Dinner.

I would like to tell you this dinner proved me absolutely wrong about the dinners from this brand and, as a result, I want to go back to the store to buy some more of these. However, it did not and, once again, I feel like I wasted my money.

I will take a moment to compliment this particular dinner by saying it was definitely easy to make. All I pretty much had to do was put it in the microwave and stir it once while it was cooking. As far as convenience goes, I really couldn't ask for much more and it was comparable to other frozen dinners I have purchased.

The dinner also proved to be filling. I had this for lunch on Saturday and it was satisfying enough to get me through the rest of my afternoon garden work without me feeling hungry again until about three or four hours later.

However, when it came to taste, this dinner left a lot to be desired. First, the prime rib meat in it, while of a better quality than I was expecting, had a very strong pepper taste to it. Imagine cooking something on the grill and having the lid to the pepper falling off while seasoning the meat and you'll get an idea of what I experienced.

Ironically, the meat was the only thing with any flavor at all. The pasta and mushrooms were very bland; as though the company ran out of seasonings after seasoning the meat.

In fact, this food was so disgusting; I honestly could not finish it. And believe me; I tried; mostly because I didn't want to waste the food I had paid for.

I hoped that maybe I would get lucky this time but, once again, I was disappointed by the TGI Friday's brand and have found yet another frozen dinner not to recommend.
