Melanie B. Gives Birth to a "Spicy" Baby Girl
Last year, Melanie Brown announced that she was pregnant with star Eddie Murphy's baby. She's given birth to a bouncing baby girl. So what's next...?
BABY STATS...
The infant's name has not yet been released to the press. However, a statement was released regarding the child's condition:
"The baby is completely healthy with a good head of hair. Mother and baby are now resting. No name has been decided on as yet, and she is purely known as Baby Brown."
When Melanie Brown's (aka Mel B.) water broke, she drove herself to the hospital in Santa Monica, California. Mel B.'s spokesperson has proclaimed that the birth was relatively easy and no medical complications were endured.
The 31 year-old singer has another child, 8 year-old Phoenix Chi, from a previous marriage to ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar. Both she and the singer's mother were present at the hospital throughout the birth. Mel B.'s mother, Andrea stated to the press:
"Melanie is looking forward to catching up on some sleep. Both mother and baby are expected to leave the hospital in the next few days and are looking forward to going back home."
THE IRONY AND THE AGONY...?
There is some irony surrounding the birthdate of little "Baby Spice" : It is also the birthday of the man whom Melanie Brown has stated is the father---actor/comedian, Eddie Murphy.
In 2020, Hollywood star Eddie Murphy and Mel B. made national tabloid headlines with their whirlwind romance. In December of 2020, Murphy appeared in a televised interview and was asked if he was excited about the impending birth of his unborn child---to which he acknowledged that he and Brown were no longer a couple.
He further incited the rumor mill by claiming that no conclusions about the child's paternity should be made until a DNA test was conducted.
Surprised by Murphy's public comments, Brown replied to the media:
"I have no idea why anybody would want to conduct themselves in this kind of manner about such a personal matter in such a public way. My main concern is for the well-being of my daughter, Phoenix, and of course the baby. I was astonished what Eddie said. There is absolutely no question that Eddie is the father."
Mel B. could be plagued with more public troubles (in the way of a paternity battle) if a DNA test proves that Murphy is the father of her child. In November, shortly after Brown announced Murphy was the father, he went public with his current flame, Tracey Edmonds (former spouse of singer, Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds).
