The Best Burp Cloths Ever!
This is a set of four flannel burp cloths made by Gerber. Very absorbent and double thick flannel for durability. The perfect size.
I myself purchased plain old cotton diapers for the express purpose of using them as burp cloths, but the Gerber Flannel Burp Cloths work so much better, we have been using these exclusively ever since we received them several days ago.
The set of four Gerber Flannel Burp Cloths come in different designs. Of course there are blue colors for boys and pink colors for girls, but then there are the yellows and greens as well, which are more gender neutral. These cloths are generously sized, measuring fourteen inches by twenty inches (35.6 cm by 50.8 cm), and are constructed from a heavy duty flannel, which is so thick that it feels like a double layer of flannel.
Unlike the diapers and homemade burp cloths we had been using, these Gerber Flannel Burp Cloths are extremely soft and absorbent. The fourteen by twenty inch size is plenty large to assure our clothes are protected when we put the baby in the upright position on our shoulder to burp her after she has finished nursing.
They are made from 100 percent cotton fabric, yet as long as we wash them in warm water and dry them on low heat, we have not had any problems with shrinking. The cloths come out looking new. The gal who gave these to my daughter said her sister just had a baby a month ago, so she had some idea which items would really be helpful to a new mother, and we are very pleased that she chose to give us a package of four Gerber Flannel Burp Cloths/
These should be washed with like colors, and the package states that you should not use chlorine bleach on them when you wash them. Non-chlorine bleach is okay, and you can also run a warm iron over them if you want to remove wrinkles, but this is a waste of my time to do this. I don't care if they have wrinkles, and they really do come out of the dryer in pretty good condition. I lay them flat on our dining room table, run my hand over them to smooth them out, then fold them into neat squares.
The packaging states that Gerber has been making products for babies for over 80 years, and I think they have a proven successful track record. These are some of the nicest burp cloths I have ever used. The edges don't fray, and they are absorbent, attractive, and the perfect size. We couldn't ask for more from a burp cloth!
